Wisdom of the Adepts, V-VII

187 to 236

188-9 (pp. 71-2) self-partitioning hermaphrodite Godhead in the labyrinth of 2 passageways

188 (p. 71)

"He-she, the man-woman, stood before the earthly adept and said, 'In our labyrinth were two occult ways, making one way. One of the ways opened through the processions of the Divine Man in the Divine Woman. The other of the two opened through the processions of the Divine Woman in the Divine Man. The two ways, making one, centered outwardly in the starry vault, within which was the altar, on which reposed the Book, which was received by us through the speech of the Omnific Word.' {Ominific World = Hermes Trismegistos}

189 (p. 71)

The man-woman then divided; the one by form emanating through the other. ...

189 (p. 72)

'... Be therefore welcome as an acknowledged Brother of the Sword : for

the sword of the Spirit is the word of God. ... He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. ...'"

{alluding to the severing by means of a sword, within the Garden of Gethsemane, of a soldier's ear (by Petros)}

190-3 (pp. 72-3) caerimonial of occult initiation

190 (p. 72)

"The hierophant who acted for the office of the chief of initiation, for initiates into the Way, in our ancient time, was necessarily ... one of the seven, called 'the Exalted of the Sanctuary.' ... He first drew the initate to himself over the threshold of the Way; -- that threshold being called 'the Impassable;' bearing him over in ... the Omnific name. ...

191 (p. 72)

The initiate was then in the opening that is called 'the entrance into Truth.' There, ... the saw 'THE TRUTH,' ... by the Form of the Wife-Truth : represented as a Woman, vailed and silent. She ... removed ... the vail, and led him to the audience chamber of the first degree. ...

192 (p. 72)

In this chamber of audience, the Woman Truth instilled nto the midn of the initiate such as ... '...

192 (p. 73)

Be watchful, awake, circumspect, circumcentered; desiring not ... by any spirit of self-desire. ... Be not afraid of the sufferings that may destory the opaque body. Be only afraid of yielding to that self-desire {avarice} that shall consume both the bodies and soul of naturality, and the body and soul of spirituality, even to avichi.' ...

193 (p. 73)

... The color-world, the music-world opened to him. Then the odor-world diffused about him and pervaded him : the love of the Divine Truth, by its Womanhood of God[dess], a blissful peace, exquisitely stilled and calmed; then thrilled the sensitives of mind and body with influences that proceed from the mysteries of the divine repose."

197-9 (pp. 74-5) serial terms of the Secret Life

197 (p. 74)

"A term or terms of years might elapse, before one who had become a Brother in the First Round was led up to the second term of the Secret Life. ...

198 (p. 75)

Yet these were men of God, walking with God all their days and living only for the offices of good works to their fellow men.

199 (p. 75)

... They bore a certain emblem which signified that there were two kingdoms; one being God's kingdom of Earth ..., and the other a kingdom of God that was formative in the subjective spaces of life. ... Hence it was said, of one of those who thus had entered the secret of the hidden life ...,

'His kingdom is within him :

{"The Kingdom of God is within you." (Euangelion according to Loukas 17:21)}

it is formed to him without any observation of ours.'"

{"The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation" (Euangelion according to Loukas 17:20).}

Loukas 17:21 http://bible.cc/luke/17-21.htm

Loukas 17:20 http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-17-20/

201-2 (p. 76) salvation from unfavorable karman

201 (p. 76)

"Those ... of the first degree ... became disqualified for the processes of the inferior evolution ... . ... .

202 (p. 76)

... for initiation into the second degree. ... Will you of yourself, yet of God in you, will to renounce, for the sake for the further bearing of burdens for mankind ... "?

204-7 (pp. 77-8) volunteering for redincarnation on the material plane-of-existence by temporarily foregoing the glories of Deva-can.a {cf. the description of the humanitarian service of such vounteers-for-redincarnation in the writings of Dolores Cannon} {This entire complex is perhaps first detailed in the description of the redincarnational vows of a bodhisattva/mahasattva in the Vaipulya Sutra-s of the Maha-yana.}

204 (p. 77)

"Is it to the Brother, whether having become ... ripe for Deva-can.a, he shall renounce, being a deva; shall renounce devachan ...? Whether he shall renounce his coming round of ages of delights, for which he is blissfully empowered, for a coming round of labors ...?

205 (p. 77)

It is shewn to the Brother, what this sacrifice involves to him. ... . ... he must evolve the strength of purpose of self-sacrifice for humanity, so formed ...

205 (p. 78)

as to be able to evolve his forms again from devachan; to ... re-enter his natural body, for a new round of labor in the terrestrial world.

206 (p. 78)

Now this was anciently termed, to be 'twice born:' it was also known as re-incarnation .

{This term /dvi-ja/ ('twice-born') is never employed in the Vaipulya Sutra-s; it is instead used exclusively to describe the social circumstance resultant from the Gr.hya-Sutra rites for a Brahmin (such as investiture with the sacred thread) : in such Gr.hya-Sutra-s there is no implication of foregoing Deva-can.a, nor is any implication of metempsychosis contemplated nor involved. [Metempsychosis (though very much Puthagorean/Platonic) is a doctrine nowhere known in the any of the old Vaidik literature , and would seem to have been introduced into Bharata by the conquaests of the Diadokhoi based in Baktria.]}

... few comparatively of the adept brothers ... ever entered the chamber of the Sepulcher, but those who did so became capable of renewing their existence, apparently in the the same bodily form, for aother life-round of the earthly labor. ...

{Here, Th. L. H. is modifying the Taoist doctrine of transmutation of the material body into a supernal glorified one by a transcendent process of transfiguration, which may be concealed by a feigned demise. In Th. L. H.'s modification, the material body is no longer transmuted into a body telestial, but is merely drasticly rejuvenated. [Is this a doctrine of some brand of sectarian Shinto? Th. L. H.'s mentors at Fountain Grove were practicing Shintoists.]}

207 (p. 78)

Behold him now, commencing his second life-round; 'a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief;' occult sorrow, hidden grief. Behold him now; a wayfaring man ... . Behold him now; no longer dwelling, as to his subjectives {voluntudes}, with the blithe and sportive races {such as fae:ries} of the gentler {divinely nobler} and essential {aithereal} humanities; but entered deep into the secret burden and the tragic encounter;

gathered up in in fixed interior resistance against the malignant genii of the dark satellite. Behold him now; evermore watching, for our world, against the operations of their magic, and forming elements from his consecrated vrilic and arch-vrilic essence; with which ... to dissipate the streams of the black magnetism, projected by their forces to sting and poison the formative human seed."

{Such "malignant genii" are the spirits of avarice seducing souls of the living into promoting capitalism; "their magic" the evil greed-serving sorceries perpetrated by capitalists; and "the black magnetism" the seduction of the working-class by the spokespersons of capitalism; "their forces" being the capitalist-stooge Christian clergy; and "to sting and poison" to delude souls into the blasphemous errors of christianism.}

{Vril is the soul's innate power to resist the hideous blasphemies perpetrated by Christ against all living beings (both mortal and immortal).}

216-9 (pp. 81-2) migratory departure

216 (p. 81)

"In the day of the departure, the air-fleets and the water-fleets sailed together westward. ...

217 (p. 81)

Tender, sympathetic, genial, virtuous, intelligent ...; they parted from us ... . ...

218 (p. 81)

Observe here, that as yet, mankind, in both of its now divided peoples, was essentially incorrupt. ...

219 (p. 82)

Many of our people however were in the hope, that the kingdom that would be founded by those who departed ... might bring forth and bring forth, till the whole Earth should be filled with the glory of God".

220-2 (pp. 82-3) proto-historic communalism : outlawing of private property

220 (p. 82)

"There was no right of private possession, for absoluteness, for any in the nations. If one, by his scientific skill, made an improvement, -- as for instance a new form of mechanism, that brought latent force into human service, -- he offered this to God ..., and he received an endowment, which he held in the order of his family. ... .

221 (p. 83)

... the body of self-desire in man, and the spirit of self-desire in the higher degree of him, were held restrained. They were kept in subjection to the Spirit of Divine Desire, involved from on high into into the spirit of his personality, and thence inseminated; being led down and embodied in the full structure of his life.

222 (p. 83)

It was recognized in our science, that ... for a people ... to acquire and hold private riches, strictly as private, ... was to lead them into an open door of the Evil Way."

225-6 (p. 84) proto-historic truthness & generosity

225 (p. 84)

"For a man to speak of that which is not so, was unknown."

226 (p. 84)

"There was also this saying, 'Keep of the good but give of the better.' So each sought to keep of the good ...; but to impart the better ... to his fellows."

231 (p. 86) use of incense and of color

"fires were kept burning with perfumes from hour to hour. We arrayed the colors ...; the colors of vril."

237 to 253

239-241 (pp. 88-9) redeemed from incarnation by the folk of the morning star

239 (p. 88)

"desiring that his ... life-round, that was now finished, might not be led forth into the vortice, whereby the spirit of the personality ascends to the luminous immensity. Lo! then the chamber where he sat in our labyrinth was illuminated and there came in among us the Light-Bearer [Phos-phoros]; yea, He who holds in his hand, by a larger

239 (p. 89)

form of the Personality, the orb which is called, 'the Star of the Morning.' {Luci-fer (He^lel)} Our eyes were thence opened to behold, by the space-mirrors in his eyes, the shining people of that star. ...

240 (p. 89)

But when our brother came forth from that sealed chamber {now-a-days, though, we must evade sealed chambres, for such are used to the C.I.A. to asphyxiate their victims by the ten of thousands}, becoming visible to our eyes, the karmic constituents formed from his ... life-round were so condensed and so infilled with the supreme virtue and energy of life, that ... his body had been exalted into youthfulness. ...

241 (p. 89)

So now our Brother, who had been ... deceased, ... was now made alive again ... . After him ..., certain others, by the assistance of his operative energy, as the ... round of their earthly existence became complete ..., ... received the investiture of that which is called 'the third heaven,' by the return of the strength of youth ... . The adept of the Third Mystery ... becomes united with the touch of the projectives of the vril-force that distills in the concentrations of the body of that people."

244-5 (pp. 90-1) redeemed from incarnation by the Man of the Sun

244 (pp. 90)

"the strength of the Man of the Sun being drawn into the man, so he will survive. ... The vortice of the sun being therefore, ..., he is henceforth at one with the incoming forces of the solar people. He stands thus, re-entering ... bodily life, yet not by the womb of a visible mother. ... .

245 (pp. 91)

... now a Brother of the Sun ... matured the solar-human fluid of virtues more rapidly; having us of the star to absorb the emanative virtue from him and to return essential qualities again into the intensified and solarised vril, that was generated in his constitution."

246-8 (pp. 91-2) recorded in the Book of O-I : ae:rial ships

246 (p. 91)

"He became a son of O-I, as is written in the book of O-I ... .

{/OI/ is (HD, s.v. "oi") a variant spelling of /OwI/, which is (HD, s.v. "owi") the cry of the bird >o>u (green honeycreeper) 'to nip off' (HD, s.v. ">o>u").} {cf. the rhyme : "the Queen was ... eating bread and honey. Along came a ...bird and nipped off her nose."}

He shall make the cyclone to envelope ... air-ships ... . ... He shall stand upon the waves, and thence go down below the waves ... in the world of waters. ... Lo! this is my ami-vossi ... . ... Colsuva-sostimi; one-twain ... .

247 (p. 92)

In the fifth life-round of this Brother, our arch-adept ..., the races of the Man-Beast ... had grown up ... . ... .

248 (p. 92)

[There] ... came ..., over the atmosphere of our condensed vapor-sphere, ... aerial ships; so descended ..., making to land upon the terraces of the great palaces of our city ... . ... They came again ... with iron and copper fleets ..., riding upon ... waters."

HD = M. K. Pukui & S. H. Elbert : Hawaiian Dictionary. U Pr of HI, Honolulu, 1971.

251-3 (pp. 93-5) how an entire nation of people was raptured into heaven

251 (p. 93)

"The sweetness that was discharged into the atmosphere was so exquisite as to lull into repose ... . Many slept : others ... were so inspired, so charmed, and at the same time made so buoyant in body, that the attraction of gravity commenced to be superceded ... . The close space then commenced to

251 (p. 94)

open about us, as in the old time that was before the sorrow. Then through the interspaces came forth delightsome people, to whom our hearts clave mightily. The firm ones but gentle, they drew to us by the formations of our plexial zone.

252 (p. 94)

... A vortice of the arch-force gently involved and drew up our people. ...

253 (p. 94)

Into our kingdom of devachan ascended thence the multitude of our people ... . As it is written, the Secret Place received those of us ... who ... for the continuation of the earthly service entered into the successive life-rounds of the Hidden Way. ... We stood till the vortice had commenced to draw up the insouled spiritualities ... of our loving People. ... Then the Arch-Hierarchy of the Superior Abodes commenced

253 (p. 95)

to imminate into us ... : so we passed on with them ... . Therefore we follow the Supreme Ruler of immensity in the path His processions of the times,

and we behold His face."

{"we see ... then face to face : ... then shall I know" (1st Epistole to the Korinthioi 13:12)}

254 to 307

260-2 (pp. 97-8) various peculiarly-named entities/objects

260 (p. 97)

"'You might see in the clear stone a shampit; a little fellow. Before I came to be as a man, I was once a shampit my inself. After I was generated [as mortal] and became [a mortal], the old father of the [shampit-]family gave this stone, with the shampit in it, that I might always wear the stone [as the setting of a ring].'-- His wife rejoined, '... He pulled off his ring and gave it to me, and the stone dissolved.'"

261 (p. 97)

"'There was a prost [species of bird]and a tiboo [species of plant]. The prost made his nest {PROudly ROoSTed?} in the high tree and he used to bring fruit to us in his bill ... . The tiboo hung in the house, to grow from its roots in a wooden bowl :

it had a cup of red, always full of sweet water-juice. {This would indicate that it is a "pitcher-plant".}

{Both orang-utans ("YODPP") and humans ("DNVPP") sometimes drink the juice filling pitcher-plants.}

... the tiboo ... juice that filled its cup, in our new place, smelled as rotten ... . ...

{It might smell thus if filled with rancid dead insects.}

In the new place I caught a wild lemsi [centipede?], crawling among the wild grass and his stung my leg. The lemsies in the old land did not bite {indicating that they were millipedes?} : when they came into the house, rolling and showing their pretty colors, it was said to be a sign [omen] ... . ...'

262 (p. 97)

The wife joined in, 'He made a car-bec, a new bed ... . ... I was delivered of a child ... . This was strange; for when a woman in the former custom had

262 (p. 98)

a boy, it was as if the pod in her should open with a sound of little bells. Then she laughed ... . Now pod-si {'difficult childbirth'} ... : then the knife was in me with a sharp cut [Caesarian section] ... . ...

We made flieves, wing-coats, but the wing-coats whirled and whirled in the air : we could not read the air with them, nor walk upon the water.'"

267-8 (p. 99) all-good : no evil

267 (p. 99)

"The order of our People ... was ... generative of a motive force for all-good. ...

268 (p. 99)

We had, in our land, no epithet for Evil : it was an unnamable thing, concerning which we would not make expression."

269, 271 (p. 100) West African royalty

269 (p. 100)

"Him they designated ... ruler over them, calling him ... 'Obi,' and they made him to be over them for a king : the woman of his side they entitled, 'Obo;' their queen."

{These are the usual designations for 'king' and 'queen' in the Slave Coast of West Africa.}

271 (p. 100)

"first, the Obi ... felt to form and to make circles in his brain".

{Concentric circles of various colors are painted atop the head in Yoruba initiations}

276 (p. 103) an Awestan-&-Vaidik sage

"There was a man in the land of Ob ..., named Jehal-Vashish."

{= [Awestan] As^a-Wahis^ta = [Vaidik] Vasis.t.ha}

281-3 (p. 105-6) principles of a society of egalitarian altruists

281 (p. 105)

"Now there was with us ... the strict way, which was, to in-energise, as follows;

whatever we did outwardly, in the field of visible effects, when the thing was done, we left it , and instantly.

{"When your work is finished, then withdraw : such is Heaven's Way." (Tao Te C^in)} {This is also a H.asidic principle, to remain unknown (anonymous) as a charitable benefactor.}

This was in order for the restoration of the powers, that we had called forth and used for the work, into their sheaths; the re-involvement of our ... inward principle, according to the law of its form by which it is inhoused toward the spirituality. It was a great art, -- this of in-energisation, -- being practiced in all the virtuous conduct of our lives.

282 (p. 105)

Thus, however great a man was in the realm of visible effects, he wasted nothing of the soul of his spirituality; nothing of the substances of virtue deposited in the chambers of that formation. He employed the [spiritual] revenue derived from his [virtue-]substanced interior, to accomplish results; but returned them to the interior, with increase. ...

283 (p. 105)

Furthermore, we held to the diversity of gifts, embraced in the unity of one spirit. We said, 'let there be no poor : let there be strict equality; all men of us being brethren, in whom one Spirit dwells and operates, from the greatest to the least.' We considered, that those by whom the least of the gifts or powers were exhibited were inmostly on that [greatest] level : that none rose inmostly above that level [of the least outwardly-gifted]; that the circle included all. We thus held that we were all of one caste, in God, and that the brother whose gifts were inconspicuous as to outward exhibition, might by the intense concentration of his powers in the unselfed service

283 (p. 106)

of all, rise to the highest degree of the Mystery of the kingdom of heaven. A man might at the first be ... entirely obscure, yet he might develop ... such potencies in the element of his virtue, as to stand among the elect [in the kingdom of heaven] ... . He might not be able, during ... his first active manhood, to comprehend in his mind the complex details of the esoteric science; yet afterward he might become an adept in the spiritual degree of that science, and then [mentally] hold the body of that science like an orb, grasped by the hands of his mind at its opposite poles, and revolving before his sight."

295 (p. 110) peculiar insignia awarded in Ob

[among the people of Ob,] "If one made a valuable invention or supreme work, it was not his own, but he was made an ovi {OVate?}-ol {OLLav/OLLamh (a word cognate with <arabi /<ulema/)?}. He wore a star-decoration and received from the department of merit a pension, or an increase of pension".

298 (p. 111) peculiar insignia & peculiar enunciation in Ob

[among the people of Ob,] "The lips of men were tongue-tied ... .

{cf. the similar praedicament of the bards of the royal court of Elfin in the praesence of Gwion/Taliesin}

Then they chanted ... with sounds as a, e, o.

{A similar chanting of vowels is attributed to Aiguptian priests by Hellenistic writers.}

The language of the forefathers ... now became as the hissing of steam and the grinding of stones, mingled with the escape of explosive sounds. ...

{perhaps intended as Khoi-San phonology -- including its palatal click}

Where men once said 'cla-e,' they now said 'gor;' the two words meaning the same,

{"cla-e" may be Strong's 3610 /KiL>Ayim/ the dual '2 kinds' (usually designated by Th. L. H. as "One-Twain"); while "gor" may be for "Gur, or Ghur" ("CET" IV) of Gawr 'depth' (Buthos, prime arkhon of the Valentinian Pleroma) for Gari ('palatal' -- A-ED, p. 804b), Gayriya ('altruism' -- A-ED, p. 808a).}

so far as they remained to be aware."

{scil., aware of how to perform alchemy of altruism -- palatal tickling to entice unition of the twain} {In Kun.d.alini Yoga, the tongue at the palate is said to absorb the dripping of the melted lunar elixir, "that Gur, that noble Lunar Oyl" ("ThSF").}

"CET" = "Commentary on the Emerald Tablet" http://www.alchemywebsite.com/emertabl.html

A-ED = J. M. Cowan : Arabic-English Dictionary. 4th edn.

"ThSF" = "Verse on the Threefold Sophic Fire" http://www.alchemywebsite.com/sophfire.html

{Another possible connection of "cla-e" with "gor" might be through /CLAymorE/ (/claidheamhmor/) 'Scottish 2-edged broadsword' to /GaRR/ '(cutting) edge of a sword' (A-ED, p. 782).}

299-302 (pp. 111-2) book of the account of the praeternatural Voice which was heard by the sages

299 (p. 111)

"the copper people, a third great nation took its rise; a people whose emblem was the blue stone {should be cobalt?} ... . They went out ... when a divine mania took possession of them. There came forth a vortice of occult force that made a human whirl, that passed leading out multitudes of the people from province to province. ... In the whirl to which they were gathered a Voice seemed calling; leading them on. This cause them to take ... fleets, and ... In these they sailed away, till they reached an Island ... .

300 (p. 111)

... And the voice still led them on : and they spread over the mountain slopes and reared a city for their chief place, calling it 'No-Ob.' ...

300 (p. 112)

And they ... made a book of God, as it seemed that the voice proclaimed in them. They wrote the book ...; and they called to God, by the name of 'the Silence within the voice.'

301 (p. 112)

... in that Island were the progenitors of sheep {Strong's 563 [>aramaic] >immar 'lamb'} ... . ...

They said, in their Book, words as these, 'In the beginning THE SILENCE {the female hypostasis Sige = Dumah} led forth the Speech {Strong's 561 >emer, cognate with Strong's 563}, and

the speech begat the Voice. And from the Voice proceeded the heavens and the earths. ... And ... a King Spirit, begotten of the Voice ... was He who whirled us out of the Ob ... .'

302 (p. 112)

... The Book that was written among them, out of the whirl, was a fair transcript of the primitive truths ...; a third book ... : the second being our [Silver Age] Book, and the first that of the golden forefathers."

304 (p. 113) sexual promiscuity on account of the black vril

"the people of Ob began to evolve a second whirl ... . Of the consequence of its motions ..., ... they took to themselves each other's daughters, sisters and wives, by immodest ... customs ..., concentrating and combining the vrilic fluid distilled into admixture with the black magnetisms".

305 (p. 113) the 3 races of mankind descended from the golden people {N.B. most of the Jaina Tirthankara-s were golden-skinned}

"There were thus three races formed from the descendants of the golden people;

first ours of the silver people :

second, ... the Obites, the copper people :

third, by a whirl of the divine mania, the emigration from Ob, who peopled the great isle, No-Ob-Si."
